A bakery’s new conveying and weighing system uses two high-performance positive-displacement blowers to improve flour conveying efficiency.
Founded in 1957 by master baker Heinrich Sehne and his wife Ruth, the Sehne bakery in Ehningen, Germany, produces more than 200 different baked-good products, which it supplies to 140 sales outlets within a 50-kilometer radius. The bakery’s equipment includes a pneumatic conveying and automatic weighing system that transfers flour from storage silos to the production process. In 2007, with the system operating at peak capacity handling 20 tons of flour per day, the bakery needed to increase production to continue meeting customer demand.
